Grantsmanship for Team Science
Thursday, May 21, 2015, 2:30-4:00pm
C217 CPHB
This seminar offers research administrators and research/proposal development professionals insight about team science and facilitating competitive team science grant proposals.
Team science initiatives are characterized by cross-disciplinary collaboration focused on complex problem-, project-, or product-oriented research. Over the last decade, academia has generated an upsurge in team science initiatives, while external funding agencies in the United States and around the globe have made more collaborative and team-based science funding opportunities available. Grant proposal development for collaborative and interdisciplinary research differs from that for individual investigator-driven research.
The seminar will cover:
• Proposal components;
• Funding opportunities for team-based research;
• Team development activities for inclusion in leadership/management plans;
• How to foster effective communication and trust in teams; and,
• A primer on evaluating team science.
The seminar is presented by Holly Falk-Krzesinski, VP for Global Academic & Research Relations at Elsevier, and founder of the National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP).

This event is co-sponsored by the Office of Research & Economic Development, Division of Sponsored Programs, and the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.
