Animal Resources, Office of (formerly Animal Care Unit)
The Office of Animal Resources provides the resources to assist investigators in the use of animals in research/teaching.

Capital Assets Management
The Property Management Office's Mission is to maintain accountability for all capitalized assets of the University and provide timely reports and data to all levels of University management, Federal agencies, and State agencies.

Environmental Health & Safety Office
The Environmental Health & Safety Office addresses occupational health & safety, radiation protection, and hazardous waste management issues.

Financial Management and Budget
The Division of Financial Management and Budget assists the Office of the Vice President for Finance and University Services in cost analysis and in developing and improving cost recovery programs.

Finance and Operations
The division of VPFO is a multifaceted organization providing services to the campus in the areas of human resources, business services, finance, and facilities.

Governmental Relations
The Office of Governmental Relations oversees and coordinates University relationships with national and state elected officials, their staffs, and with governmental agencies.

Grant Accounting Office (GAO)
The primary mission of the Grant Accounting Office is to assist the Office of the Vice President for Finance and University Services in the exercise of good fiscal management practices for externally sponsored programs at The University of Iowa.

Human Resources

Human Subjects Office
The HSO provides administrative support for the University of Iowa Institutional Review Boards. An Institutional Review Board is a group of individuals charged with reviewing proposed research involving human subjects to ensure the protection of those subjects and compliance with federal human subjects regulations.

Office of the Vice President for Research
The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) oversees an organization that supports and fosters research, scholarship, and creative activity throughout The University of Iowa campus. More specifically, our office assists faculty, staff, and students in obtaining both external and internal financial support for their projects, brokers working relationships and support for research among various constituents involved in the research mission of the university, and stimulates and manages the transfer of UI intellectual property to the private sector. We also ensure that research activities are conducted with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with existing regulations.

Technology Transfer (University of Iowa Research Foundation)
Information on the University's policies and procedures for management of inventions, software, digital creations or research tools, obtaining rights to inventions, software, digital creations, or starting a business near The University of Iowa.

Research Information Systems
The mission of Research Information Systems is to provide computing services and IT support to the research administrative units of The University of Iowa. We primarily serve the Office of the Vice President for Research and it's administrative sub-departments. We also provide needed computing services to the UI research community that aide in the search for funding opportunities and submission of research proposals.

Travel Department
The Travel office is responsible for auditing and processing all payments related to University of Iowa Business Travel. They are also available as a resource for information regarding travel policy and processes.
