To ensure a safe and healthy work environment and comply with federal requirements, The University of Iowa has developed protocols for reporting inappropriate behavior, including sexual and other forms of harassment, discrimination, and bullying. The procedures are intended for offices that conduct investigations involving PIs and other personnel funded through external awards.
UI procedures align with requirements for a safe work environment elucidated by federal sponsors such as NSF and NIH.
The new protocols spell out the process for identifying events that may trigger reporting requirements. If required based on sponsor policy, DSP will complete any mandatory reporting to the sponsor.
